Professor Maarten J. IJzerman is the VCCC professor and head of Cancer Health Services Research in the University of Melbourne, Centre for Cancer Research and Centre for Health Policy. He also holds a fractional appointment as a professor of Health Technology Assessment in the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
He is leading a global research program focused on the health economics and service delivery of precision medicine, in particular oncology. The research program includes the use of real-world (linked) data for health services research, the use of decision modelling methods for biomarker development, patient-preferences research and dynamic treatment sequencing.
