Associate Professor John Atherton

Associate Professor John Atherton is Director of Cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, University of Queensland. His clinical and research interests include heart failure pathophysiology, quality of care in patients with acute coronary syndromes and heart failure, cardiac genetics and cardiac rehabilitation. He chairs the Asia Pacific Acute Decompensated Heart Failure Registry Scientific Advisory Committee and sits on the National Heart Foundation Chronic Heart Failure Clinical Practice Guidelines Executive Group, the NHF Joint Heart Failure Program Executive Advisory Group and the NHF Queensland Division’s Health Reference Group.
