Stage 4 - DecisionMSAC finds that human papilloma virus (HPV) triage for Pap smear, compared with repeat recall cytology at one year, is safe and is effective but is not cost effective in the Australian setting at the current price of HPV testing. MSAC does not support public funding for HPV triage testing in cervical cancer.
