Service or technology in this application
Lisocabtagene maraleucel (Breyanzi) is a type of treatment called CAR-T cell therapy. This treatment is made using a patient’s own T‑cells, which are a type of immune cell. This means the treatment is specially made for each person.
To make CAR‑T cells, doctors first collect the patient’s T‑cells from their blood. These cells are then sent to a laboratory, where they are modified so they recognise and attack cancer cells. The patient's modified T‑cells are grown into larger numbers and then put back into the patient through an IV infusion. Once inside the body, the modified cells seek out and destroy cancer cells.
