Reason for application

Service or technology in this application

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is made by small sacs in the ovaries called follicles. A laboratory test can measure AMH in a blood sample. People with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) may have higher AMH levels than expected for their age because they have many small, developing follicles. This is called polycystic ovarian morphology. It can also be identified using an internal ultrasound scan. Updated guidelines from 2023 include AMH testing as an alternative to ultrasound.

Medical condition this application addresses

Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), previously called polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS, affects up to 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. It can increase the risk of heart and metabolic diseases. PMOS can also affect fertility, reproductive health and mental wellbeing.
